We found the lady laying on the ground with a small amount of blood beside her head; our approach was cautious with a sheet of ice between her and us. It had rained night before then frozen; and there was no sand or salt on the walkway yet. We examined the gash on the back of her head cleaned it up a bit and got her into the transporting ambulance for a trip to the ER. We hope it was just a few stiches and not anything more serious. She was on her way into her chiropractor’s office in a small strip center. So, who is responsible for the hospital bill?
So who's at fault?
Essential coverage for small businesses and most contractors
Coverage may be required to apply for certain professional licenses
First, she’ll get billed, her medical insurance company will probably pay; then the subrogation department at her medical insurance company will go after the chiropractor and the owner of the building to recover what they paid. If the chiropractor owns the building, then the building and business are likely on the same policy; if not the landlord should have his own policy.
